Frequently asked questions
What we are asked most
Do I need an exam if I see well?
An exam also checks the health of your eyes, not only how you see. Many problems start without symptoms.
How often should I have an exam?
It depends on your age, your health and whether you wear glasses. The doctor tells you when to return.
Do you work with my vision plan?
We work with many plans. Call and the front desk confirms yours.
Why was part of my visit billed to my medical insurance?
When the visit is for an eye problem or a disease, medical insurance pays.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
The front desk confirms what your plan covers before the visit. Call with your plan number handy.
Can I fill my prescription somewhere else?
Yes. Your prescription is yours.
Do I get my contact lens prescription?
Yes, when your exam and fitting are done.
What should I bring?
Your current glasses, your plan card and a list of your medicines.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your plan and the reason for your visit. Read how fees work.
What do I do in an eye emergency?
If you lose vision suddenly, see a curtain, or have an injury or a chemical splash, call us right away or go to an emergency room. In an emergency, call 911.
